What Can You Change About Your Life in One Day?

Take stock of your day-to-day life. Are you giving to others or is a little out of balance where your work, your immediately family gets 99% of what you offer the world?  You can change that in one day. Donate more of your time or money to a charity. Supporting a cause will help keep you informed about social issues and can strengthen your sense of well being while benefitting others in the process. Additionally, monetary donations are tax deductible. This is really just a bonus because the real reward is not on April 15th but comes the other 364 days of the year.

  1. The LA Gay and Lesbian Center has a homeless youth program. LGBT youth who wind up in foster care have a higher "rejection rate" which is when the foster family decides they don't want the kid after all. These kids get sent to group homes that are more like juvenile detention centers than a home. So they run away and live on the streets. That is one reason why nearly 40% of homeless youth in LA are LGBT. I recently donated my time and fashion sense to the center by separating donated clothing into 4 piles: trash, re-donate, everyday and job interview. The job interview pile was the smallest. I have suits I never wear. I think I will drop off a few at the Center this weekend.
